Susan Hutchison Unveils Bi-Partisan Endorsements

Addresses Need for Bi-Partisan Solutions in County Government

King County, WASusan Hutchison appeared alongside Lt. Governor Brad Owen and former Seattle Mayor Wes Uhlman this morning announcing her intention to usher in an era of bi-partisan reform in King County government.  Hutchison reiterated the commitment she made upon entering the race stating, “When I entered this race… I promised to bring individuals together from all backgrounds and both sides of the aisle to work together towards cooperative solutions to our many complex problems.”  Hutchison furthered that commitment saying she would look to individuals from diverse political backgrounds to achieve real, not political solutions

Democrat Lt. Governor Brad Owen noted his support for Hutchison was rooted in her moderate values that represent King County and her willingness to work towards cooperative solutions with all groups.  Lt. Governor Owen said, I see her as a moderate candidate, the moderate candidate, running for this office.”  Owen continued noting Hutchison was “someone who can work with all sides of an issue.”

Former Mayor Wes Uhlman stated, “It is time for change – someone who can bring folks together,” and emphasized Susan Hutchison was the only candidate offering that change.  Mayor Uhlman stressed costly political projects such as the Ferry District have prevented real transit relief from being achieved.  “If you are really happy with what is going on in King County government, you should vote for the other person.  He is not a catalyst for change.”

In addition to being supported by Brad Owen and Wes Uhlman, Susan has been endorsed by State Auditor Brian Sonntag (D), former Congressmen Lee Hamilton (D) and Don Bonker (D), Attorney General Rob McKenna (R), former Sec of State Ralph Munro (R), former Governor Dan Evans (R), and former Senator Slade Gorton (R).  Moreover, polling released by King 5 last week revealed Susan leads Council Chair Constantine among both moderates and independents by margins of 7 and 10 points respectively.
