King County, WA—“With the specter of flooding, pandemic flu, and the continued effects of the county’s financial crisis looming ahead, I am prepared to take leadership on November 24th,” Hutchison announced today.

Hutchison went on to list several members of her transition team.  “These individuals have distinguished themselves by their years of experience and service to our region, and I am humbled by their stepping forward to accept this new challenge,” said Hutchison

King County, WA— Today brought a devastating blow to our region and our state.  The Boeing Company announced today it is moving its future out of this region.  This is an abject failure of our government and our elected officials.  Governor Gregiore, former Executive Ron Sims, King County Council Chairman Dow Constantine, our Congressional delegation and our legislature have failed us.

"KING County is a government in trouble. It is being swamped by the recession, a string of unsustainable budgets, a faulty dam and a larger outbreak of H1N1 flu. These are all real and immediate problems that demand decisive action.

This election must be about change.

Some of these problems, particularly the budget, cry out for fresh leadership atop county government. Susan Hutchison is a political outsider and brings a host of fresh ideas of how to tackle the budget. Because of this potential, she earns the endorsement of The Seattle Times."

"The final KING 5 News poll before ballots are mailed out finds King County Councilmember Dow Constantine is losing ground to former TV anchor Susan Hutchison in the race for King County Executive.

The poll of 523 likely voters, conducted by SurveyUSA, shows Hutchison with a 47 percent to 42 percent lead on Constantine. That's an increase of two points over the last survey."

King County, WA—It has been brought to our attention that Dow Constantine and his campaign appear to have engaged in illegal coordination with an independent expenditure committee during the primary, and yesterday a formal complaint was filed against his campaign.  The PDC confirmed this morning it will begin a review early next week – a process that precedes a full investigation.  

"The numbers in the poll conducted by SurveyUSA remain unchanged from a similar survey 18 days ago. Likely voters are giving former TV anchor Susan Hutchison the edge over King County Council chair Dow Constantine, 47 percent to 44 percent."
