Seattle Times Endorses Susan Hutchison

10/16/2009

"KING County is a government in trouble. It is being swamped by the recession, a string of unsustainable budgets, a faulty dam and a larger outbreak of H1N1 flu. These are all real and immediate problems that demand decisive action.

This election must be about change.

Some of these problems, particularly the budget, cry out for fresh leadership atop county government. Susan Hutchison is a political outsider and brings a host of fresh ideas of how to tackle the budget. Because of this potential, she earns the endorsement of The Seattle Times."

"Eastside Business Alliance endorses Hutchison in executive race" - Seattle Times

9/25/2009

"It backed state Rep. Ross Hunter, a Democrat, in the primary election for King County executive. But today the Eastside Business Alliance -- which includes the Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland and Issaquah chambers of commerce -- announced its endorsement of Susan Hutchison.

"When you look at her priorities, her desire to work on creating job and economic growth, her talk about standing up for small business, it seemed to be in stark contrast to what we've seen out of King County and the leadership, or perhaps lack thereof out of Dow Constantine," said Jim Hill, alliance chairman and vice president at Kemper Development."

"What sports can teach us about politics" - Bellevue Reporter

9/15/2009

"King County government has grown tired and heavy. It spends more and more money doing what it was already doing. It is poorly managed and its agenda is driven by a few large interest groups. What King County needs is a new skipper with imagination. Voters have a clear choice in the contest for County Executive: an experienced political insider from the County Council, Dow Constantine, or outsider Susan Hutchison, a one-time colleague of mine at KIRO-TV, who went on to run a respected foundation....."
